Sarah asks...
Is it correct to say..."If I were president" or "If I was president"?
Anne answers...
Both are correct, depending on the situation. If you are merely wishing to be president, you would say "If I were president. . ." But if you really intend to be president someday, you would say "If I was president . . " So which did you mean?
